Russian TV: USA Preparing Aggression against Syria
Moscow, Jan 5 (Prensa Latina) The United States is creating political, diplomatic and military conditions to launch an aggression against Syria, maybe by using a mercenary army trained in Turkey, Russia Today TV channel denounced on Thursday.
Chris Bambery, an analyst resident in London, told RT that Western sanctions against Damascus just constitute the inicial phase of an aggression against that country, where armed groups are attacking the Army and Police and causing victims among the civilian population.
The expert considered that Washington is already preparing diplomatic conditions and is taking part with advisors in the preparation of a mercenary force, Syria's Liberation Army, which they want to present as deserters from the Syrian armed forces.
These mercenaries are being trained in Turkish territory, whose government has intensified its hostile discourse against Syria while the Syrian Army rejected last week several attempts of entry by this armed group.
Bambery said that the combination of sanctions, diplomatic moves and the training of a mercenary army is giving momentum to the events, in which the White House is set to trigger conflict without involving directly in a land operation.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry denounced U.S. interference in its internal affairs as it questioned the government of Bashar al Assad's compliance with commitments assumed with the Arab League, including pulling out armored vehicles and heavy weapons from the cities.
Washington is triggering violence by giving motives and encouraging radical sectors to generate internal instability in Syria, said the RT English version.
While Western countries are launching a disinformation campaign, accompanied by economic sanctions, ever increasing mass demonstrations to support Al Assad's government are staged in Syrian streets.
